The Freedom America Concert will take place at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC, on Monday, October 28, 2013. The event will honor active duty and veteran members of the U.S. armed forces, and raise money for the USO (United Service Organizations, Inc.), a nonprofit organization that provides programs, services and live entertainment to United States troops and their families. The General Admission doors will open at 9:30 pm on Monday, October 28th, and the America concert will begin at 10 pm. Concert is also sponsored by Thomson Reuters.
America was first formed in 1970. The original band members, Gerry Beckley, Dewey Bunnell and the late Dan Peek met while their fathers were serving in the U.S. Air Force and stationed at the base at RAF West Ruislip, London. Peek left the band in 1977, and Beckley and Bunnell remained as the two sole members.
